The Organic Farm
The Organic Farm of Tenuta Frascanera covers an area of five hectares and is an integral part of the tourist offer. It was in 2023 that the desire to optimise the Tenuta's agricultural potential was born in us. Our project is to make all the spaces usable while respecting the characteristics of the place, realising agricultural practices at low environmental impact.
This is why we committed ourselves with guidelines such as:
Our productions
To the production of honey (already active for many years), a seasonal vegetable garden, an olive grove, the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic herbs, the cultivation of berries and small fruits, and a rose garden with the most precious varieties of old and modern roses have been added. We are us to work directly vegetable raw materials in a very short time to guarantee the highest quality and ensure that they are treated with the utmost care.
We then process them and use them for the preparation of food products, essential oils, olive oil and niche cosmetics of the highest quality accompanied by the BIO certification.
We strongly believe respecting nature and in the recovery of ancient and indigenous cultivars. All our crops are designed to be integrated into the surrounding environment. Great importance is given to the management of water resources, which today represent one of the most critical points on farms.

Olive Grove
All our tree crops, including olive trees, belong to ancient and selected varieties. Although olive growing at altitude remains a pioneering crop, many do not know that olive cultivation in the province of Reggio Emilia was once quite widespread. An important research project has identified three olive tree varieties typical of our province : Bianello, Montericco and Montelocco.
Olive growing in Reggio Emilia has been progressively abandoned over the centuries to make room for intensive and more profitable crops. The desire to bring olive growing back to the Reggio Emilia Apennines led us to be among the first to invest in this crop. Thus was born the project of an organic, researched and non-intensive olive growing. It envisages the combination of national cultivars and typical cultivars of our province such as Montericco, Montelocco and Bianello.

Officinal and Wild Herbs
Since ancient times, officinal herbs have been the basis of pharmacology and phytotherapy. Skilled hands of herbalists and botanists worked herbs and drugs expertly, preparing remedies and mixtures that were used both in the treatment and prevention of disease.
The cultivation of organic medicinal herbs combined with experience and the study of scientific aromatherapy and holistic medicine form the basis of our products.
The medicinal herbs are exclusively harvested in the balsamic period and processed and distilled within a few hours of collection. This allows us to preserve the drug quality and active ingredients of the medicinal herbs as much as possible. Our herbarium is enriched by the collection of wild medicinal herbs from the hills and woods surrounding the estate. The herbs are used both for our products and in the kitchen.

Seasonal Garden and Fruit Trees
There is no greater satisfaction than being able to nourish oneself with food grown in the garden, without pesticides, rich in nutrients and positive energy. Colours and fragrances alternate in the natural rhythm of the seasons, nourishing one's body and spirit. By cultivating a vegetable garden, one learns the art of patience, enhances one's sensory capabilities and gets in touch with one's environment.
Trees of figs, persimmons, chestnuts, apples and pears enrich our estate, along with those from dried fruit (almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts) providing us with a year-round boost of vitamins and omega-3. Our fruits are imperfect and non-homogenous, shaped only by nature, and it is this uniqueness that makes them precious. Ample space is dedicated to growing and harvesting berries and small fruits.
Despite their small size, many of them are considered true medicinal plants. They have extraordinary antioxidant qualities and a concentration of vitamins. The dogwood, currants, gooseberries, aronia and rosehips are extraordinary examples of small fruits with medicinal properties. That is why we decided to use them as the basis for our products.

Roses
Our rose garden consists of several varieties of ancient and modern roses.
We have selected most of the old roses carefully from among the different varieties for their medicinal and aromatic properties and use them in the preparation of rose products.
